IN GAME
Q: What is Horizons?
A: HORIZONS is a mature themed x-men game which explores the silver age everyone surpasses in other x-men games. We wish to explore exactly how the danger room was created, how cerebro came about, and how Xavier was able to get the sub basements done onto his mansion which has apparently been in his family for years. We want to explore the relationships of charles and erik, and even experience the rift between them in character. Perhaps also, evolving the game much like the comic book does from simply a place where young adults have come to learn to control abilities, to a school known world wide.
Q: What are the influences for Horizons?
A: X-Men: the first class, most definitely. We're also applying sort of X-Men evolution themes (Those in high school attending public school, for instance) as well as possibly the beginning to each great x-men start. (movie, wolverine & the x-men) what have you. We'll be drawing plot in sequence of events from a number of sources.
Q: Whats the status of "Xavier's Mansion" ?
A: Simple. Back in the good old days, Xavier's Estate was never a school for mutants, as that happenned much later. It is a haven for these young adults to be better equipped in the understanding of their talents. That being said, we most definitely could explore that route. But for now, it is more of housing and a training ground.
Q: Where is 1407 Graymalkin Lane located?
A: It is located Three miles outside of Salem Center, New York. Meaning, they would have easy access to public areas. Please keep in mind Salem Center is forty miles away from New York City. Considering the close proximity to Salem Center, occupations and attending local Community College is definitely an option. Some students will also be in a local high school.
Q: Who is available?
A: Anyone that you could imagine sliding in here. Obviously, children of and such won't be accepted. People from alternate realities wouldn't be a safe albeit, either.
Q: Okay. So I'm applying for Jean. You know, the girl that has died like three times, went through four different transformations and such. What should I include? (works for any character with a complicated history)
A: Well, I think that just for reference facts, every character should reflect their original background. Since many of the other things came on through development of the comics, it is much easier, and would be a neat thing to explore -- as far as second mutations, enhancements, and even get rid of stupid things that happened, for example -- Like with Scarlet Witch? The whole HOUSE OF M.
Q: Do you escept OCs? [ Original Characters ]
A: Simple answer? no. Since were removing all the complexity from out and under established characters, it gives us plenty of room to manipulate them to our liking.
Q: I can make my character's orientation anything I'd like?
A: Yes and No. Both Mods are heavily pro gay rights and the like, but it is virtually unrealistic to turn a complete and utterly known heterosexual canon, and turn them completely homosexual. However, we will say that those character that have shown sexual tendencies to vary, even if they aren't stated to. Such flimsy characters like these to us would be ( Emma Frost, Danielle Moonstar, Rahne Sinclair, Robert Drake and Remy LeBeau. ) This list however, isn't permanent, as we'll review any application with any orientation we think fit. Just, keep this in mind. with a limited number of characters and muns, it'll be kept modestly low.

Q: Is it okay for me to use netspeak and TyPe Li3k DiS?
A: No. It's okay for you to do it jokingly in your characters journal or comments once in a while, but if you're doing it all the time you're just being a menace to society.
Q: How do I log an RP?
A: You log an RP by posting it in the IC community (please). Before you do that it must be cleaned by changing screen names to character's names and bolding them then inserting a colon next to it. (Ex: ashley_hillder123 changes the SN to say, Iceman.) If you're still a little unsure on how to do this and you need help cleaning a log, contact one of the mods, and we'll be happy to teach you how.
Q: Do I have to log every RP I do?
A: Nope. ALTHOUGH, it is prefered. It tells the mods whose been good, and whose been naughty ( as far as inactivity ) But -- You can log as little or as many RPs as you want. It is encouraged that you log any RPs that effect the entire group or are really plotty and that you don't log any RPs that are overly boring and uneventful.
Q: I just learned something OOC about a character! Is it cool for me to make my character know by some magical means?
A: Nope. You must must must be able to keep what you know OOC separate from what your character knows. You wouldn't like it is someone spoiled your plot this way, so don't do it to someone else.
Q: I have something to do that's going to keep me busy for a while ( 1-2 weeks+. ) What should I do?
A: First, make sure you've notified the mods about if so we won't tag you as inactive. Second, come up with some plot to explain your character's absence from the game.
Q: So I've been in this group for a while and no one is talking to me. Er, why?
A: The question should be: Why haven't you IMed someone to talk to them? ;]
Q: Is there a minimum post requirement?
A: No, but this is a game where writing will be focused. if you want to type five sentence replies, don't bother us. This is for writing, and development, without the constraints of activity checks.
